INCLUSION IS NOT A CHECKLIST

Inclusion is NOT A CHECKLIST, but rather a COMMITMENT, a PRACTICE and an ENERGY.

How do YOU define inclusion?

At Bust a Move Dance we feel passionate about disrupting how teachers view Inclusion. Based on recent conversations it seems that we’ve narrowed our perspective of what inclusion is and for us, we believe it’s a commitment, a practice and an energy.

It’s not just about having wheelchair access
It’s not just about integrating students
It’s not just about providing audio description.

Those examples absolutely contribute to a more inclusive space but it’s a checklist.

Inclusion is self awareness. It’s curiosity. It’s willingness to be wrong and be held accountable.

If you’re in the business of looking within, challenging your biases and belief systems then you’re our people.

Share in the comment section below, what your definition of inclusion is.
